VIDEO!! Museveni SFC Guards Mercilessly Thump Fasting Muslims While Breaking Their Fast At Kololo, Muslims Fume
On Wednesday, President Museveni presided over the swearing-in of the new ministers he recently appointed, he was at the Kololo Independence Grounds for another important event.
The event in Kololo was a dua for prayers and also the official launch of Salaam Bank, the first bank to have an Islamic banking license in Uganda. The event was organized and promoted by Hajjat Hadijjah Uzeiye Namyalo, the Head of the Office of the National President in Kyambogo.
However, later in the evening, all hell broke loose when the President left while fasting Muslims searched for free pilafo prepared for dua participants. While they were arguing over who would take pilafo for Iftar, the SFC policemen started beating the Muslims without fear or favor but with enthusiasm.
In a video circulating on social media that has drawn mixed reactions, people are wondering how Muslims were treated with Kiboko, apart from fasting, after listening to the President in Kololo.
Meanwhile, at the same event, President Museveni officially opened Salaam Bank, the first licensed Islamic banking institution in Uganda. Islamic banking follows principles based on Islamic law that prohibit the payment and receipt of interest. Instead, it operates through profit-sharing arrangements and investment vehicles that comply with Shariah principles.
The President inaugurated the bench during the Ramatan Dua prayers held at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds organized by the Office of the National President (NRM).Addressing the gathering, Museveni expressed his wishes for a fruitful Ramadan and offered prayers for the protection of Muslims.
He also stressed the importance of engaging in income-generating activities to improve livelihoods.
“In my hometown of Ntungamo, laziness is not tolerated. It is common for every individual to participate in activities such as animal husbandry, agriculture, fishing, manufacturing and crafts. When I took over the leadership of Uganda, I promoted the fight against poverty and creating prosperity,” he said.
He outlined four sectors through which poverty can be alleviated, including commercial agriculture, manufacturing, service industries such as transport and hospitality, and information and communications technology (ICT).
The President recognized that these sectors need capital and therefore government has implemented various interventions such as Entandikwa, NAADS, Operation Wealth Creation, Emyooga and the Parish Development Model (PDM) to provide start-up capital to Ugandans.
