Apologetic Moses Ssimbwa, addressing a gathering on Liberation Day, startled attendees with a heartfelt plea for forgiveness. Tearfully, he begged President Yoweri Museveni for security, citing imminent danger to his life. Ssimbwa recounted his harrowing experience of being lured by opposition members into fabricating his own abduction.
According to his disclosure, he was paraded by Ugandan opposition leaders in Nairobi, portrayed as a victim of state brutality, when in reality, he had been involved in a boda boda accident. Detailing the alleged incident orchestrated by the opposition, Ssimbwa emphasized its objective: to discredit the ruling NRM government.
However, Joel Ssenyonyi, spokesperson for the NUP and leader of the opposition in parliament, vehemently denied these allegations. He asserted that the opposition does not operate safe houses, unlike the government.
Adding weight to Ssimbwa’s claims, Faruk Kirunda, Deputy Press Secretary to H.E. the President, affirmed that the truth had finally come to light. Ssimbwa’s revelation exposes the opposition’s purported narrative of government torture, revealing instead his status as a victim of a boda boda accident.”
