President Museveni Speaks Out On Uniting East Africa – Forming One Government Is Necessary
East Africans have reacted by giving out their views and opinions after the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni’s hint of merging East African countries to form a single state.
While speaking in Kenya, the president said that they have really worked as head of states of the East African countries in ensuring that the Union, East African Community is stronger and functioning well, something that has brought unity among the EA countries.
He added that what they are currently working on is creation of a political federation in EA and finally they will finish with the crating of one government for East Africa.The leader mentioned that the countries have been of benefit to each other in one way or another and creation of one state, one currently will benefit the them more in development and economic revolution.
“We received the East African community because it has got an agenda further than mere economic integration.It says that ultimately, we shall create a political federation.Our ultimate target is to create one government for East Africa”,he said.
President William Ruto and other leaders who joined him in state house for bilateral talks with Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni broke into a laughter after the Ugandan Head of State’s comments on African security.
Museveni who was concerned about the security of Africa questioned how the continent can be strategically secure when there are people who have managed to go the moon and perhaps viewing the Earth there.
Museveni said that the people at the moon are looking at Africans just the same way one can look at insects while feeding on sugar. He says that because the insects just feed on sugar and do not anything the owner of the sugar can decide to kill them all just by spraying insecticide.
Using the example, Museveni said that it is good to be ignorant just like the insects because an ignorant person never gets worried. He further stated that an ignorant person can die comfortably.
“How can Africa be strategically secure. Now we are here on Earth and some people have gone to the moon looking at us. It is like insects eating sugar and you are looking at them and they do not know. Anytime you can decide and spray them with insecticides and they die because they do not know. It is also a good thing to be ignorant because when you are ignorant you are not worried. You can die comfortably.” Museveni said before his audience broke into laughter.
