In a riveting narrative of personal resilience, Joseph Tamale Mirundi, Senior Presidential Advisor on Media to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, recently shared a gripping tale involving a tense encounter with a Local Defense Unity (LDU) Soldier. This incident transpired on the premises of Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s Christian Life Church in Bwaise, a bustling suburb of Kampala.
Mirundi, a regular guest on Pastor Ssenyonga’s radio show, vividly recounted the episode where he found himself accused by the LDU Soldier of soiling their shared workspace, invoking concerns about potential health hazards for the churchgoers. Dismissing these claims, Mirundi faced suspicion when the officer pointed at the zipper of his trousers, hinting at an alleged wardrobe malfunction.
Fearing escalation, Mirundi swiftly reacted as the LDU soldier reached for his firearm. Employing a move reminiscent of an SFC Command, Mirundi executed a forceful kick to the soldier’s chest, causing a dramatic tumble to the ground. Triumphantly, Mirundi revealed how he stepped on the soldier’s neck, only for the situation to take an unexpected turn when his own SFC Commandos, provided by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, intervened to prevent further conflict, urging Mirundi to refrain from harming a government soldier.
Acknowledging his wariness towards LDU personnel, Mirundi expressed reluctance in engaging with them, attributing it to their perceived naivety and eagerness to display firearm prowess. He suggested that these behaviors stemmed from limited opportunities for real combat, unlike soldiers deployed in active war zones.
Digging deeper into the incident, Mirundi shared insights from his Mirundi Internal Security Organisation (MISO), alleging that a senior pastor orchestrated the LDU soldier’s actions. This pastor supposedly held animosity towards Mirundi for his steadfast loyalty and support of House of Prayer Ministries International senior pastor Alosious Bujjingo. Furthermore, Mirundi claimed that this vendetta extended to influencing Teddy Bujjingo Naluswa, involved in Bujjingo’s divorce case at the Family Division of the High Court.
