Renowned media personality Isaac Daniel Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, has made a heartfelt appeal to the public to pray for the ailing political commentator, Tamale Mirundi.
Kasuku, who has had the privilege of hosting Mirundi on his YouTube channel, revealed that Mirundi’s health has taken a turn for the worse and he is currently receiving care at home. While Kasuku welcomed visitors to see Mirundi, he refrained from disclosing the specific nature of his illness, humbly stating that he is not the family spokesperson.
This is not the first time Mirundi has faced serious health concerns. In January, he was hospitalized due to low blood pressure, and in 2019, he courageously revealed that he had been poisoned. However, it remains unclear whether he fully recovered from the poisoning.
Born in 1964 in Rakai district, Tamale Mirundi is a veteran journalist, author, and political analyst celebrated for his incisive commentary on various media platforms. Throughout his illustrious career, he has worked with numerous reputable media outlets, including Radio 4, NBS TV, Top Radio, Beat FM, ABS TV, Impact FM, STV Uganda, Pearl FM, and Metro FM.
Mirundi, the son of Molly Namatovu and Yowana Mirundi, attended Lubiri Secondary School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and a Master’s degree in Communication. His academic background and professional experience have equipped him with a unique perspective on Ugandan politics and society.
In 2009, during the protests over the government’s refusal to allow the Kabaka to visit Kayunga, Mirundi supported the government’s position, demonstrating his willingness to engage with complex and contentious issues. His fearlessness and commitment to truth have earned him both admiration and criticism, cementing his position as a respected voice in Ugandan media.
As Mirundi faces this new health challenge, Kasuku’s appeal for prayers and support serves as a reminder of the impact Mirundi has had on Ugandan society. His contributions to journalism, political analysis, and public discourse will continue to inspire and shape the country’s future.
