“I’m One Of Those Who Made Bobi Wine Who He Is, I Deserve A Monthly Salary” Says Bucha Man
Bucha Man, a former singer of the Firebase crew, is seeking financial compensation from the National Unity Platform (NUP) for his contributions to the party’s success, particularly in launching the career of its president, Bobi Wine.
As the former Vice President of the Firebase crew, Bucha Man believes that he and other original members deserve recognition and payment for their role in establishing the platform that propelled Bobi Wine to fame.
In an interview with Bukedde TV, Bucha Man emphasized that the old Firebase crew members are the ones who made Bobi Wine the person he is today, and therefore, they should be put on the party’s payroll. He argued that when new politicians joined the party, they found a well-established and running organization, courtesy of the Firebase crew’s efforts.
When asked who should bear the cost of their salaries, Bucha Man pointed to Bobi Wine himself, suggesting that as the principal, he should take responsibility for paying them directly. He noted that if other party members, such as Rubongoya and Joel Ssenyonyi, receive salaries, then the original Firebase crew members should also be compensated.
Despite being aware of Bobi Wine’s government-imposed ban on holding music concerts, Bucha Man remains confident that the opposition leader has the financial means to support his former crew members. He described Bobi Wine as one of the wealthiest individuals in the country, implying that he can afford to provide for those who helped launch his career.
Interestingly, Bucha Man currently serves as President Yoweri Museveni’s advisor on ghetto affairs, having severed ties with Bobi Wine years ago. However, he expressed hope that the two could reconnect if Bobi Wine wishes to do so.
Bucha Man’s demands have sparked attention, particularly given his complicated history with Bobi Wine. In the past, he has spoken out about his experiences with the Firebase crew and his relationship with Bobi Wine, even suggesting that he would join Bobi Wine’s 2026 presidential bid.
