Singer Jose Chameleon Showers Gen Muhoozi With Praises

Singer Jose Chameleone electrified a massive crowd at the recent political gathering organized by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in Masaka city, igniting a fervor of support.

Amidst the blazing afternoon sun and amidst a sea of fellow artists, the charismatic leader of Leone Island seized the moment to take jabs at both his political and musical adversary, Bobi Wine, cheekily dubbing him a “fala.”

“In this Muhoozi fire… let’s not dwell with that fala, let’s stand with Muhoozi,” Chameleone rallied the predominantly youthful audience, urging them to shift their allegiance from Bobi Wine to Gen Muhoozi.

Historically a stronghold of Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP), the Greater Masaka region’s allegiance appeared to sway during this event, as Chameleone’s performance served as a rallying cry for change.

Graciously welcomed to the stage by Bebe Cool, Chameleone and his former rival embraced, danced, and belted out some of Chameleone’s greatest hits, including “Kiboko Fire,” “Mateeka,” “Nkoleki,” and “Mama Mia,” further galvanizing the crowd’s enthusiasm.

Gen Muhoozi’s tour of Masaka drew a notable attendance of ministers, parliamentarians, and other esteemed national and local leaders, underscoring the significance of the event.

However, beneath the surface, fissures in NUP’s support base in the region began to emerge, exacerbated by a recent rift between the former Leader of the Opposition and Nyendo-Mukungwe MP, Mathias Mpuuga, and Party President Bobi Wine.

Political strategists speculate that Gen Muhoozi is poised to capitalize on these internal divisions within NUP, aiming to consolidate support and sway the region towards his cause.

Jose Chameleon, whose birth name is Joseph Mayanja, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and politician who has left an indelible mark on the East African music scene.
