In a candid revelation, Eddy Kenzo, the renowned musician and President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), has shared the emotional struggles he faces in his leadership role.u
Despite his passion for advocating for musicians’ rights, Kenzo confessed that the constant criticism and negativity from some quarters have taken a toll on his resolve.
During a recent Jam Session, Kenzo opened up about the emotional rollercoaster he’s been on, admitting that there have been times when he felt like throwing in the towel. “The negative comments, even from fellow musicians who are supposed to be part of this journey with me, have been overwhelming. It’s disheartening to see people trying to undermine our efforts,” he said.
However, Kenzo’s dedication to the cause and the belief of those who support him have been a constant source of motivation. “When I feel like giving up, I remind myself why we started this journey in the first place. I think about the musicians who are counting on us to make a difference, and that gives me the strength to keep going,” he added.
Kenzo’s leadership has been instrumental in pushing for the copyright law, a crucial step towards protecting musicians’ rights in Uganda. Despite the challenges, he remains resolute in his pursuit of this goal, refusing to let the negativity deter him.
